I had a pretty scaring dream when I was in high school.
In that dream, I wake up in my room, picked up a sport pistol (the only firearm that I have fired, looks identical to Walther GSP Expert .22).
Then I got out of my room and turned out I was in school. (Do not ask me why or when did I get dressed).
.22 Rounds were quite rare, just like in Silent Hill universe - lacking of bullets. So, most of time, I needed to keep some other melee weapons like water pipe and baseball bat.
There were dead bodies all over the place, and some scary things walking around. Classrooms and corridors were decorated with blood stink and gores.
Well, it could be the effect of a Silent Hill 4 trailer that came from my video game magazine.
